A friend once told me BCS stands for Bowl Cash Series and I couldn't agree more.
I mean Boise State vs TCU in the Fiesta Bowl, what the hell for?
Let's first look at TCU and examine the body of work, is there any fear?
The Horned Frogs won 9 games by 20 points or more, including 7 straight to end the year.
Throw in road wins at Virginia and Clemson, against so called power conference foes.
And 6 wins came against teams now heading to play in bowls, not just average Joes.
Why not find out what they can do against Goliath on a national stage this time?
That match-up won't make the BCS the most money, and won't be how I end this rhyme.
Instead we have a rematch of a bowl game from a year ago, both teams with a higher rank.
One of these "Little Guys" will end with a perfect record, but no title shot in the bank.
Boise State has 5 wins against bowl bound teams, including Oregon the champs of the Pac 10.
The Broncos only loss last season was to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl, will this happen again?
The average margin of victory for the champions of the WAC was 26.5 points per game.
Boise has the nation's top rated passer and highest scoring attack; will this result be the same?
Regardless, the BCS powers that be got what they really wanted in the long run.
The SEC champion will play Texas for the national title, oh what fun.
I am not claiming these teams don't deserve to be in the national title discussion.
But with 5 undefeated teams going into bowl season, the thoughts of playoffs can cause a concussion.
We haven't even talked about quite possibly the biggest snub of all.
Cincinnati went undefeated in a power conference in college football.
The Bearcats beat 7 teams that will be playing in the NCAA's version of postseason.
They also had to win games with their backup qb, a wrist injury was the reason.
However, this Cincy team may have the best opportunity to show they are the best.
The defending National Champion Florida Gators will be quite the Sugar Bowl test.
Cincinnati is losing its head football coach to the Irish of Notre Dame.
What is the main reason there is no playoff system? MONEY IS TO BLAME.

I Now Present To You...NFL Playoffs 2010

As we get our feet wet in the year 2010,
Don't look now the NFL playoffs are set to begin.
Some of the usual suspects have returned to compete,
While others will have to prove they belong with the elite.
The defending champion Steelers won't get to defend,
As a 5-game losing streak was just too far to bend.
Saints, Vikings, Colts and Chargers all earned week 1 byes,
But the NFC East champion Cowboys seem to be on the rise.
Brady and the Patriots will be without Welker in the slot,
Meanwhile the Ravens travel to Foxboro to give their best shot.
Rematches are the story heading into postseason play,
With 3 Wild Card games the same as the regular season's final day.
The Bengals haven't won a playoff game in 19 years,
With a Jets rematch played at home, Ochocinco may earn some cheers.
The Cardinals want the Super Bowl for the second year in a row,
But a rematch with the Packers looms and 'Zona needs a better show.
The Eagles lost the division to the Cowboys on the road,
Now after 2 losses to Dallas, Philly has to bring quite the load.
The teams are set and we shall call this the "January Journey,"
Winners keep the dream alive while losers feel like leaving on a gurney.
No prediction this time but I will include my input as a fan,
I'll be pulling for the ageless Favre to show the Packers who's the man.
I'm partial to the QB position as my favorite of all-time is Dan Marino,
So who better than Favre to watch in Miami? Take that to the Vegas casino.
